Acquire intercultural skills

International experience and intercultural skills are of huge benefit when embarking upon a career. At Bern University of Applied Sciences, students have the opportunity to complete part of their studies abroad. Whether through a term as an ERASMUS exchange student, work experience or a summer school – various options are available depending on the course studied.

For example, students studying for a bachelor’s degree in business information technology work on projects with an international connection as part of the practical module CASE and attend foreign universities as part of this. Over the past term, five students completed courses at universities in Berlin, Grenoble, Helsinki and Hong Kong. The record in terms of distance was set by business information technology student Ly Foun: she took part in a 6-week summer school at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. During her time abroad, she looked at global enterprise management and gained further valuable qualifications by taking a course in Mandarin.

The International Relations Office and the various departmental contacts for international affairs would be happy to provide any students interested with help or advice.
