BFH encourages the ideal balance of family and work – for example with the option of part-time hours or telecommuting (home office).
Maternity and paternity leave
Female employees are entitled to paid maternity leave amounting to 16 weeks with 100% of their salary paid during this time. Fathers and adoptive parents are granted 10 days of paid leave. Mothers and fathers may also apply for unpaid leave of up to six months, provided that normal operations can be maintained in their absence.
As an employer, BFH always tries to assist in finding constructive solutions when it comes to its employees’ care responsibilities (childcare and care of elderly family members).
For example, we offer our employees a limited number of day-care places at our Bern, Biel and Burgdorf campuses.
