Health promotion and disease peevention implies knowledge of the dynamics of health and disease causation. They are directed towards strengthening protective factors and opportunities for development, as well as influencing constraint and risk factors. The aim of our research activities is to achieve individual and collective health gains, through reducing risks and diseases, and by promoting health resources.

Quality Promotion, Effectiveness Orientation and Economic Efficiency in the Healthcare Sector
This area of emphasis centres on issues of the fitness for purpose, effectiveness and economic efficiency of interventions in accordance with the conditions set out in Swiss healthcare legislation. On the one hand, the quality efficiency of the assessments, interventions, facilities, staff, products and organised processes must be improved, and on the other, it must be possible to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of any given health-orientated measure.
