The online catalogue of the Nebis-Bibliotheksverbunds (Nebis library network) lists nearly 7 million titles from over 80 libraries of universities, universities of applied science and research institutes in all language regions. The following BFH libraries are affiliated to this network: Engineering and Information Technology (Biel / Burgdorf), Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering (Biel / Burgdorf), Agriculture, Forestry / Food Science & Management (Zollikofen), Swiss Institute of Literature (Biel). Anyone wishing to borrow books must be in possession of a so-called IDS library card. |

The universities of applied science are subscribed to approximately 60 databases through the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries. All staff and students of the universities of applied science have free access to these databases on campus. Organisation
The library specialist group is responsible for answering general questions related to the libraries. The specialist group promotes cooperation between BFH libraries and uses synergies. It coordinates the spectrum of services, drafts recommendations and submits applications to the University Executive Board or the Specialised Committee of the University of Applied Sciences Libraries (Fachkommission der Fachhochschulbibliotheken FHB) on subjects relevant to all libraries.
