Agriculture

Course summary

The landscape and agriculture are fascinating areas of activity at the point where food security, ecology, efficiency and society meet.
Alongside the agricultural economy’s production of healthy, good-value food and the provision of a wide range of services, the landscape is increasingly important as an area for relaxation and as the location of natural resources.

Today’s agriculture is undergoing a development process. Farmers have to cope with the changed demands of market and society and at the same time find satisfactory solutions in earning their living. With increasing globalisation, the challenges can only increase. The future of agriculture depends on how well these processes of change can be managed; and agronomists play a leading role here.

Beyond the fundamental competences, the study of agronomy offers the specialisations of agricultural economics, plant sciences, animal husbandry, horse management and international agriculture.
