Course summary

The Master’s degree in Music Composition and Theory offers access to composition through various media and techniques. Composition is understood as ranging from traditional notation on paper, to the setting in sound of visual material, the digital synthesis of sounds or the staging of musical productions.

 

The objective of the course of study is to train composers so that they have an overview of all the processes of musical creation in their own musical projects, and are able to reflect on and communicate them.

Specialisations The Master of Arts in Music Composition/Theory is a cooperative Master's degree with the Zurich University of the Arts and offers seven study emphases. The Bern University of the Arts offers three study emphases:
