Process Technology

The Process Technology course is a module of the CAS Wood-Based Panels programme. It provides you with a theory- and practice-based understanding of the manufacturing processes in the particleboard, MDF/HDF and OSB industry. This course is taught in an online format and sessions can be easily attended from anywhere in the world.

Content + Structure

Do you want to expand your knowledge about wood-based panel manufacturing technologies, or are you new to this sector? This concise training program, offered since more than 15 years, provides expert knowledge, in-depth understanding of the relevant processes, and opportunities for networking with experts. Respecting the current situation, the core of the program is organized as an interactive online week with seminars, workshops, bilateral expert meetings and much room for interactions with the course participants. The online week is supplemented by e-learning material.

The module "Process Technology" is made up of three blocks.

All activities take place online.

  • E-learning (as preparatory work)
  • Lectures with discussions
  • Production Technolgy Workshop, in groups with integrated lectures
  • Pressing Technology Seminar, with hands-on computer simulation
  • Bilateral meetings with experts

You will do a group work and present the results to a panel of experts at the end of the one-week course.

Practicalities + Application

Our continuing education courses are held as face-to-face lessons (and include excursions). Certain parts are held in a hybrid form (face-to-face and online) or can be followed completely online. Should face-to-face lessons not be possible, they will solely take place online via Microsoft Teams.

The application deadline is August 4. The BFH reserves the right to cancel the course by this date.
