EAIE: Leadership 2018-2020
EAIE Leadership 2018-2020 elections: Vice-President, Board, General Council and Expert Community Steering Groups elected.
The EAIE (European Association for International Education) was founded in 1989 and is the ‘centre for expertise, networking and resources in the internationalisation of higher education’. The institution supports those involved in the internationalisation of universities through training, conferences and knowledge sharing. It is the biggest non-profit organisation in Europe dedicated to this issue and has a large network.
Congratulations to the following individuals from Switzerland on their election:
• Robert Buttery, FHNW: Member of the General Council
• Erich Thaler, University of Basel: Steering Group Chair, ‘Cooperation for Development’
• Andrea Tamas, ZHAW: Steering Group Member, ‘Health and Welfare Education’
• Andrea Wehrli, BFH: Steering Group Member, ‘Language and Culture’
We are particularly pleased that so many Swiss candidates were elected. This shows that Swiss contributions are appreciated in Europe and that European higher education continues to be of great interest for Swiss universities.
Those elected will take office at the EAIE 2018 annual conference, which takes place from 11 to 14 September in Geneva, hosted by the University of Geneva and Presence Switzerland. The conference theme is ‘Facing outward’. In addition to excellent opportunities for networking and establishing contacts, attendees can participate in continuing education, workshops and sessions on a variety of topics. The deadline for early-bird registration is 27 June 2018.
