New requirements and framework conditions are opportunities for generating active design. You need to be able get those involved on board as you set off on a voyage of discovery to explore the innovative potential of your organisation.

This specialist course:

  • Is designed for executives and project managers working in the service sector - especially the social, health, educational and cultural sectors - who wish to develop their organisations in a targeted manner
  • Will help you in your organisational context to initiate, implement and evaluate future-orientated strategy processes
  • Will provide you with the skills to design your communication in line with your target group(s)
  • Will teach you how to effectively deal with resistance
  • Will help you to discover your own innovation potential, that of your employees and your organisation and thus put in place an atmosphere open to changes.

Content and structure

Portrait

As social conditions continue to evolve, you as a manager will need to have considerable skills at your disposal that will help you master change processes. This is a particular challenge in public and non-profit organisations that compete for good professionals and secure funding. With proven experts you will acquire the professional, methodological and social skills that will successfully enable you to initiate, steer and communicate change.

Course objectives

  • You will gain in-depth insights into the nature of organisations and their potential for change.
  • You will be able to identify the need for change and will be able to plan, communicate and implement appropriate projects in your organisation.
  • As a supervisor, you will be able to lead employees during change processes and provide competent support to specialists and managers working in HR and advisory posts.
  • You will learn how to shape innovation and innovative services in your organisation.
  • You will be able to recognise your own potential for innovation and that of others and exploit this.

The content of the specialist course will be as follows:

  • Understanding and shaping change - triggers of change; analytical and diagnostic tools; forms of intervention; settings and designs; practical methods for planning and implementing change processes
  • Steering change - basic forms and methods of organisational consulting; selection, assignment and roles of internal and external consultants; further development of personal consulting skills; dealing with conflicts
  • Communicating change - central importance of communication in phases of change; impelling and steering processes and projects using appropriate communication; counteracting fears constructively
  • Triggering innovation
  • Principles and implementation options in innovation management
  • Inputs from the lecturers as an introduction to the topic, knowledge transfer and with suggestions for in-depth discussion.
  • Concrete case work with examples from your own professional context.
  • Interactive and participative design with group work and presentations.

     

In a half-day development session at the end of the specialist course, various case studies relating to the topic of change in organisations will be worked through individually and in groups. You will work in a challenging and appreciative atmosphere in which you will simulate and present situations from your everyday working life. You will receive feedback on the simulations and presentations from your colleagues and primarily from the coaches. At the end of the day, you will summarise your insights in a video message.

Components of the proof of competence: self-assessment during the development session, external assessment by the coach, video message.

Requirements and admission

This course is designed for executives and project managers working in the service sector - especially the social, health, educational and cultural sectors - who wish to develop their organisations in a targeted manner.

You do not need to meet any specific admission requirements to participate in this specialist course. If you would like your completion of this specialist course to be credited towards the CAS Public Management and Development course, the general requirements for admission to university-level continuing education will apply.

You have 3 years from attending the first day of the first specialised course to complete the CAS.
