In his public talk, Arturo Escobar will discuss his outline for pluriversal transitions based on relationality and a design practice centered on the care of life. He will present an example of regional transition design in Colombia.

Arturo Escobar is an activist-researcher from Cali, Colombia. He is professor of anthropology emeritus at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Adjunct Professor, PhD Program in Environmental Sciences, Universidad del Valle, Cali. His most recent books are Designs for the Pluriverse (2018); Pluriversal Politics (2020); and Relationality: An Emergent Politics of Life Beyond the Human (2024, with M. Osterweil and K. Sharma).
