Survey: Transport to Haemodialysis: What does it cost and what impact does it have on your life?

Unlike in other countries, costs for transportation to and from haemodialysis are not fully reimbursed in Switzerland. We would like to better understand the impact of these travel costs on the financial and social situation of patients requiring haemodialysis.

What is it about?

Patients with chronic kidney disease who have to undergo haemodialysis and their families experience physical, psychological, social, and financial impacts. This project focuses on the travel costs from home to a dialysis centre. This financial burden can be significant, but only few studies have addressed this aspect.

The results of the survey will be made available in anonymous form to the Swiss Kidney Foundation which is funding this project.
