Contexte initial

The goal of the outlined R&D project is to develop a formaldehyde-free, urea-based adhesive system, intended for the wood-based panel manufacturing market. Due to the reclassification of formaldehyde as carcinogenic to humans, the quest of uncovering an adequate formaldehyde substitute is of outmost importance. The herein proposed novel urea-based adhesive formulation utilizes a biomass-derived chemical compound as formaldehyde alternative.
