Situation
RBF+ is transforming Myanmar's agrifood sector through targeted interventions that support economic resilience and environmental sustainability. By enhancing the adoption of clean technologies, sustainable inputs, and innovative practices, RBF+ enables agrifood MSMEs and producers/farmers to improve productivity, competitiveness, and market access while reducing their environmental impact. Key actions include developing demand-driven solutions, facilitating linkages between service providers and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), enhancing capacity for compliance with quality and safety standards, and supporting market research to unlock domestic and export opportunities. Additionally, the program promotes knowledge sharing through iterative research and case studies to scale successful practices.
Résultat
The project outputs include improved access to sustainable technologies and stronger linkages between providers and end-users. MSMEs benefit from enhanced capacity to meet market demands and increase sales in both domestic and international markets. The creation of knowledge-sharing frameworks equips stakeholders to adapt and innovate effectively. At the outcome level, RBF+ drives transformative outcomes. MSMEs and producers adopt sustainable practices, boosting productivity and reducing costs. Enhanced environmental performance mitigates climate risks, while expanded market opportunities strengthen resilience and income generation. Knowledge dissemination supports a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
Perspectives
The intended impact of RBF+ is to achieve a resilient and sustainable agrifood sector in Myanmar. The most significant change (MSC) will be the generation of a greater income and employment while reducing the environmental footprint of businesses. By strengthening market systems and empowering stakeholders, RBF+ supports rural livelihoods and sustainable economic growth in a fragile context.
