Contexte initial

The goal of the outlined R&D project is to develop a formaldehyde-free, phenolic adhesive system, intended for the plywood manufacturing market. Due to the reclassification of formaldehyde as carcinogenic to humans, the quest of uncovering an adequate formaldehyde substitute is of outmost importance. The proposed phenoltype adhesive formulation utilizes a biomass-derived chemical compound as formaldehyde alternative along with lignin as potential phenolic entity.
