SwissVote: Secure Internet Voting in Switzerland

Many deployed e-voting systems such as the ones of the Swiss cantons of Geneva, Neuchâtel,
and Zürich do not exploit the state-of-the-art cryptographic technologies.
This project investigates these technologies and aims for improvements.

Contexte initial

The project includes the further investigation of the design and verification of e-voting protocols as well as the implementation and analysis of critical parts of an e-voting system.


The activities are the exploitation of the cryptographic primitives such as blind signatures, anonymous channels, homomorphic encryption, secure bulletin boards, re- encryption, and mixing of ballots for verifiable e-voting systems.
