Welcome Day 2013

Welcome Day 2013

Bern, Friday, 22 February 2013, 5.30 p.m., -6 degrees Celsius (wind-chill -30 degrees Celsius) - around 25 students were gathered at the «Baldachin» where the scavenger hunt trough Bern was about to start. The motivation was at a minimum level regarding the ruthless weather conditions. Still, the five groups gave it a try to solve the mysterious riddles of the historic center of Bern.

One hour later (with most of the riddles unsolved) the cold gave us all a very good excuse to arrive earlier in the restaurant «Altes Tramdepot» where the hot chocolate was already awaiting us to heat our undercooled legs and bums us up. The three-meal course was typically Swiss inspired; where the Rösti was nothing unusual to eat for the «multi-culti» group, the students looked at the Emmentaler Meringue with great suspicion. Empty plates and stuffed bellies – the students were released with a survival bag sponsored by ESN, ready for the exchange-adventure at Bern University of Applied Sciences.
