Cyber Security with Honeypots

This talk explains the different kinds of honeypots used in cyber security. This includes honeypots for detecting intrusions, intelligence gathering, counter-intelligence, attribution, and forensic investigation.

Speaker

Bruce Nikkel is a professor at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, specialising in digital forensics and cybercrime. He is co-head of the university's security research institute (RISIS) and director of the Masters in Digital Forensics & Cyber Investigation (DFCI). In addition to his academic role he has worked at a global financial institution in various security and risk departments since 1997, managing the Cybercrime Intelligence & Forensic Investigation team for over 15 years and currently acting as a senior advisor. Bruce holds a PhD in network forensics and is an editor with Forensic Science International’s Digital Investigation journal.
