Automatic heart rate control during treadmill exercise
Automatic and accurate control of heart rate (HR) during treadmill exercise is important for prescription and implementation of training protocols.
This presentation will introduce a novel system identification method using an input signal of PRBS (pseudorandom binary sequence) form to estimate the dynamics of heart rate response during treadmill exercise. Novel second-order models are employed and compared with first-order models.
This presentation will also describe control system design based on the second-order models and compare closed-loop performance with controllers based on first-order models.
