Flexible programming of Industrial Robots for Agile Production environments.

Modern industrial robotic systems become smarter and more flexible, but are rather tailored for specific large-scale applications, making their implementation too complex and costly for smaller operators. The EU funded ACROBA project aims at developing a novel concept of cognitive robotic platforms, which can be smoothly adapted to virtually any industrial scenario. This talk gives an overview on the task planner module being developed by BFH as a part of the ACROBA project. This module enables the dynamic programming of a robotic manipulator to execute a sequence of tasks efficiently, in order to achieve a predetermined goal, for example the automatic assembly or processing of a part.

Laurent Cavazzana

Laurent Cavazzana worked as a research engineer in applied mathematics in the industry for more than 10 years, notably in the field of quantitative finance and then AI and computer vision. He joined the I3S Institute as a reseach scientist to work on the EU Funded ACROBA project. In particular, he develops the task planner module.
