CV

  • Diana Rojas is a Colombian-Swiss director, author, performer and artistic researcher working between Switzerland and Colombia. Her transdisciplinary practice moves across immersive performance, audio-based art, documentary art installation and participatory formats.
At the centre of her research at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) are aesthetic and ethical questions of representation, listening and responsibility in contexts shaped by violence, transactional justice and social transformation, particularly in relation to former combatants from different armed groups in Colombia.
Her work combines artistic research, participatory laboratories and public discourse formats to explore decolonial methodologies, ethics of listening, and the aesthetic construction of “victims,” “perpetrators,” and all implicated subjects within conflict dynamics.
Parallel to her artistic practice, she is pursuing a PhD in Media, Theatre and Popular Culture at the University of Hildesheim. Her doctoral research focuses on decolonial artistic research, immersive performance practices, artistic methodologies, and the ethical dimensions of staging war violence.
Her work has been presented in theatres, art institutions and academic contexts across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Luxembourg and Colombia. Her practice is characterised by multiperspectival storytelling, the interplay between documentary material and fiction, and the creation of collective and sensorial spaces of listening.

She is a board member of t. Theaterschaffen Schweiz, the national association of independent theatre professionals in Switzerland.
