Research guidelines and standards
We are dedicated to the principles of open science, promote transparency and scientific integrity and are committed to open, qualitative research evaluation.
To establish Open Science, we have defined our own Open Science Strategy. Our expectations towards our scientists are set out in our Open Science Policy. The Open Science Office coordinates the transition to open and transparent science at BFH.
In order to implement good scientific practice, we also follow the Code of conduct for scientific integrity of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences. Internal regulations outline principles, best practices, procedures and sanctions that are in place to encourage a culture of scientific integrity. A Scientific Integrity Board supports these efforts.
Research assessment
We have signed the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) and are committed to advancing research assessment criteria, advocating for high quality and impact, and recognising the diversity of research activities, practices and outcomes. We are also one of the signatories of the ‘San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment’ (DORA). This requires an open, adequate assessment of research that is not limited to bibliometrics.
