CV

  • Patrick Bedarf is an architect who researches design and construction for innovative and sustainable building practices using algorithms, robots, and intuition. He received his doctoral degree from ETH Zurich in 2023 with the thesis, “Architected Porosity: Foam 3D Printing for Lightweight and Insulating Building Elements,” which explored new possibilities for architectural design combining novel sustainable materials, robotic additive manufacturing, and computational design. While remaining a lecturer at the ETH Zurich, he worked as business development manager for advanced fabrication products at the startup FenX AG and later as Digital Technology Specialist at Itten Brechbuehl AG, one of the largest architecture and general planning firms in Switzerland. Previously, he gained experience in architectural practices (Zaha Hadid, Delugan Meissl, Henn), and taught in architectural schools throughout Europe (ETH Zurich, TU Delft, TU Berlin, Politecnico di Milano).
