Research Professor for Responsible Management
- Since September 2020, David Risi is Research Professor for Responsible Management at the Bern University of Applied Sciences. David’s work uses both empirical and conceptual methods and covers the fields of business ethics and organization and management theory.
David was a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University (Saïd Business School) and a lecturer at the School of Management and Law of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). For several years David worked as an analyst for sustainability reporting at a management strategy consultancy.
His research has been published in practitioner-oriented outlets, edited volumes and leading refereed academic journals such as Business & Society and Journal of Management Studies, and the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. He is the author of the book “Corporate Social Responsibility” (Elements in Business Strategy), published by Cambridge University Press in 2019. David's PhD thesis won the Academy of Management Social Issues in Management Best Dissertation Award 2017.
David taught introduction to business administration, organization and management theory, strategic sustainability management and business ethics at the bachelor as well as the (executive) master level.
