CV

  • Lucia Gomez Teijeiro is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at the Bern University of Applied Sciences and Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Geneva. Her work focuses on the development of interdisciplinary, application-oriented solutions in data science and artificial intelligence, spanning domains such as finance, philanthropy, or neuroscience.
    With a background in psychology (BSc), computational neuroscience and molecular biology (MSc, PhD), and computer science (PhD, postdoc), she brings a neurocognitive and decision-making centric perspective to AI system design. Her current research interests center in generative and interpretable AI, including transformer-based models and agentic systems for supporting real-world decisions.
    In addition to research, she teaches and coordinates education programs in applied data science and AI, supervises students research across levels, participates in workshops and conferences for knowledge and research dissemination, and is engaged in several research associative networks.
    Across endeavors, Lucia is committed to reproducible and open science, and has a strong orientation towards developing AI solutions that are societally beneficial.
