BFH Business School has been upgraded to ‘Transforming School’ status in the Positive Impact Rating

22.06.2026 The Positive Impact Rating (PIR) is an international sustainability rating for business schools. 87 higher education institutions from 32 countries took part in this year’s survey. BFH Business School has now achieved Level 4 and is thus classified as a ‘Transforming School’. This category recognises universities that visibly embed sustainability and social responsibility in their culture, governance and actions. The assessment of BFH Business School is based on feedback from 197 students and 53 teaching and research staff.

Boost for further development

«The fact that BFH Business School has moved up from Level 3 to Level 4 in the Positive Impact Rating confirms that we are on the right track with our strategy,» says Ingrid Kissling-Näf, Director of the Business School. Particularly strong scores were achieved in the area of governance, where sustainability is assessed in terms of management structures and decision-making processes. In the area of teaching, students gave the various degree programmes high marks: sustainability and social responsibility are consistently embedded in the course content. At the same time, the rating provides insights for further development. Among other things, there is a desire for even more practice-oriented learning formats or greater integration of real-world social challenges.

For the BFH Business School, the result is therefore both a confirmation and a mandate: «The feedback shows us, on the one hand, where we are already well positioned and, on the other, where we can still improve. We intend to address this potential for improvement in a targeted manner over the coming years,» said Kissling-Näf.
