Activities

  • Conduct applied research in international forest management and policy, with a focus on socio-ecological systems, governance, and sustainability transitions.

  • Support the design and implementation of participatory research approaches, including participatory mapping, stakeholder analysis, and companion modeling methods.

  • Contribute to international research projects on mangrove restoration, forest governance, and agri-food systems.

  • Assist in the organization and delivery of teaching/course activities, lectures and workshops.

  • Contribute to the delivery of research reports, policy briefs, presentations, and academic outputs aimed at both science and practice.

Research

  • My research focuses on mangrove restoration and coastal governance, particularly on how social, ecological, and economic dynamics interact across landscapes. I am interested in understanding how restoration outcomes are shaped by governance arrangements, stakeholder incentives, and decision-making processes, especially in contexts where conservation, livelihoods, and emerging finance mechanisms (e.g. carbon and CSR initiatives) intersect.

  • My current priority is contributing to the RESCuE-2 project, where I support applied research on mangrove restoration in Southeast Asia. This includes analyzing socio-ecological dynamics, engaging with local and institutional stakeholders through workshops, and translating complex governance challenges into accessible tools such as strategy games. A key focus of my work is to support learning and dialogue across actor groups, and generate insights to more inclusive and context-sensitive mangrove restoration policies.
