UNESCO Chair strengthens the international focus of BFH-HAFL

29.09.2026 Since September 2026, the UNESCO Chair in Responsible Global Management has been based at the Cecchini Institute at BFH-HAFL. The interdisciplinary chair, headed by Pia Stalder, brings together universities across borders to promote international cooperation in education, research and innovation.

The UNESCO Chair currently links 19 universities in Africa, Europe and Canada. Together, the partner institutions develop educational programmes, collaborate on research projects and contribute their experiences from different cultural contexts.

‘Responsible Global Management is built through collaboration among people from different disciplines, cultures and regions,’ said Pia Stalder, holder of the UNESCO Chair. ‘I look forward to strengthening this network from BFH-HAFL and creating new spaces for dialogue and action in support of a more just, inclusive, and peaceful coexistence.’

By establishing itself at the Cecchini Institute, the UNESCO Chair complements BFH-HAFL’s international activities and creates new opportunities for collaboration with partners worldwide. All BFH departments are welcome to engage in discussions and be involved in the UNESCO Chair’s network.
