CV

  • Following his studies in Physiotherapy (2001-2005), Dr. Schmid obtained an MA in Pathokinesiology from New York University (2009) and a PhD in Biomechanics from ETH Zurich (2016). After completing a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School & Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (2018-2019), Dr. Schmid was appointed lecturer at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, where he serves as Deputy Head of Physiotherapy Research and Head of the Spinal Movement Biomechanics Group. His research interests include the biomechanics of the spine as well as neuromuscular aspects of compensatory mechanisms during gait.
