The staged works explore the everyday, the surreal, and the bizarre: Field recordings and instrumental sound that reveal amplify and conceal pulsing patterns hidden under bustling city noise. A multilingual take on ancient Japanese poetic form, ‘interpreted’ by live video, that questions meaning, narrative, and expression. An at-home scene, where everyday actions ‘conduct’ instrumentalists in a constantly-moving tableaux that amplifies and recontextualizes routine experiences – three different compositional approaches offer us insight into the imaginative world of young artists.
