BFH is a member of the European University Association (EUA)

01.03.2021 Bern University of Applied Sciences is now an official member of the European University Association (EUA).

EUA is the largest association of European universities and plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation. Through continuous interaction with a range of other European and international organisations, EUA ensures that the independent voice of European universities is heard.

EUA offers its members a forum for collaboration and information exchange on university and research policies. One key topic is the role and importance of universities for European society – discussing, for example, what universities can contribute towards tackling challenges such as sustainable development.

With this membership, BFH would like to take an active role in the opinion-forming processes in the EUA committees. Sebastian Wörwag, President of BFH, will represent Switzerland in the EUA’s Research Policy Working Group. EUA currently has around 850 members in 48 countries. These include 10 Swiss universities, two Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology and five Swiss universities of applied sciences (as of February 2021).
