Situation

TEIL has the vision that clothing consumption in Switzerland can be slower and more sustainable. At the same time, the founders believe that this can be achieved without compromising on style and choice. The business model is based on renting clothes instead of buying, which offers customers various benefits, including cost savings, increased sustainability, and greater flexibility. TEIL represents an alternative to the current fast-paced and environmentally harmful clothing consumption. We firmly believe that in the future, the joy of fashion does not have to be about ownership. The concept is similar to a library: Based on a selection of subscription models, clothes are borrowed and returned after a certain time. Currently, the start-up is faced with the challenge of identifying attractive new customer segments and developing services that are suitable for consolidating and refining their business model. The research project aims to identify attractive customer segments and develop services that are suitable for consolidating and refining the business model

Course of action

The needs, desires, and issues of existing and potential customers related to clothing rental will be examined through qualitative workshops and a quantitative survey.

This project contributes to the following SDGs

  • 12: Responsible consumption and production
