Campus Climate Action (BID0744)

The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. If we do not reduce our greenhouse gas emissions quickly, life on our planet will very soon become very uncomfortable for us humans. Technical solutions alone are not enough – we also need new, sustainable behaviors.

How can we achieve this? That is exactly what you will learn in this module!

Together, we will develop creative approaches from political communication and behavioral economics and test our ideas directly in practice.

This is what you can expect:

  • You will understand how our behavior influences climate change – and what influences our behavior.
  • You will learn about methods such as nudging, gamification, and awareness campaigns and implement them yourself.
  • You will gain exciting insights into practical applications and work on real-world challenges.
  • Together with students from other degree programs, you will develop your own intervention and test it in a real-world environment.
  • This module is a foundational module for the Certificate of Engagement in Sustainability (CES) – your first step toward a recognized sustainability certificate.
