Campus Climate Action (BID0744)

How can we motivate people to act more responsibly and actively help shape the transition to a climate-friendly future?
In this module, you’ll learn about approaches from the fields of communication and behavioral psychology and develop your own creative ideas, which will be tested in practice right here on campus. After all, technical solutions alone aren’t enough – we also need new, sustainable behaviors.
For everyone who doesn’t just want to talk about change – but wants to help shape it.

This is what you can expect:

  • You will understand how our behavior influences climate change – and what influences our behavior.

  • You will learn about methods such as nudging and gamification, and implement them yourself in a university setting.

  • You will analyze existing climate campaigns and initiatives and learn about different target audiences.

  • You will gain exciting insights into practical applications and work on real-world challenges.
  • Together with students from other degree programs, you will develop your own intervention and test it in a real-world environment.
  • This module is a foundational module for the Certificate of Engagement in Sustainability (CES) – your first step toward a recognized sustainability certificate.
