The EHSM BSc in Sports is the only university degree programme of its kind in Switzerland, providing a solid foundation for both professional and academic careers in the field.

This degree programme:

  • requires that you value studying at the heart of national sports promotion; 

  • includes a long-term internship to provide you with meaningful practical experience; 

  • enables you to pursue a master’s degree; 

  • prepares you for a range of careers in the field of sports;

  • allows you to select from two specialisations: sports management or sports teaching;

  • leads to a Bachelor of Science EHSM in Sports.

EHSM BSc in Sports

On successful completion you will be awarded a Bachelor of Science EHSM degree in Sports (a legally protected title).
This is not a teaching qualification.

Career prospects

The SFISM BSc is the ideal foundation for working as a

  • coach
  • sport and exercise instructor
  • sports event manager
  • sports economist
  • governing body official
  • sports science advisor
  • and many other occupations.

Graduates could be employed by, for example, local authorities, cantons (especially cantonal Sports Offices), sports clubs and governing bodies, non-profit organizations, youth organizations, organizations for exercise and sport for people with disabilities, commercial sports enterprises (e.g. sport and leisure centre operators, event organizers, sporting goods industry), etc.

The SFISM BSc in Sport is also the ideal springboard for other careers in sport following the acquisition of further qualifications, such as school physical education teachers, professional coaches or work in adult education.
