Sports with specialisation in Elite Sports

Practical focus: This master’s degree programme is practice-oriented and interdisciplinary, and allows you to choose a major in Training Science or Sports Management.

This degree programme:

  • is aimed at sports-minded students with a bachelor’s degree, who are interested in going on to work in a training science or sports management-related field in the world of elite sports;

  • is a prerequisite for working in an academic/scientific capacity in elite sports;

  • provides comprehensive knowledge of your chosen major, training science or sports management;

  • allows you to consolidate your knowledge of your chosen major in at least one three-month work placement;

  • offers you the opportunity to acquire professional skills and knowledge during your work placement and to establish connections in your chosen environment;

  • allows you to explore your chosen major in depth in a master’s thesis;

  • ensures that you are up to date with the latest elite sports-related developments in training science;

  • informs you about opportunities in the elite sports market and enables you to identify relevant success factors and meet the challenges of this market;

  • enables you to work competently with elite sports-relevant research methods and critically evaluate research projects;

  • teaches you the skills required to taken on demanding, complex roles and to interact in the elite sports environment;

  • enables you to recognise your strengths and weaknesses and take these into account in your work organisation;

  • is based in Magglingen, the heart of Swiss sport, allowing you to benefit from applied research in competitive sport and the ‘day-to-day’ proximity of the elite sports world.
