  • Susan Müller is professor for entrepreneurship at Bern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) and research fellow at the Swiss Research Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (KMU-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). Before taking on the position in Bern in August 2020, she was working at the KMU-HSG (2007 – 2012 and 2014 – 2020). Between her two stints in St. Gallen she led a research project on social innovations at EBS Business School (Germany). Susan worked as a consultant before moving to academia.

    Her research focuses on three major areas: social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, and the link between entrepreneurs’ actions and success. She is currently heading an SNFS funded longitudinal research project on "Entrepreneurs’ Actions for Successful New Venture Creation" which tracks entrepreneurs’ actions over one year to understand behavioral patterns that increase the likelihood of early venture success. Susan, with colleagues from the KMU-HSG, co-authored the textbook "Entrepreneurship. Modelle – Umsetzung – Perspektiven" which is in its fifth edition from Springer Gabler in 2019.
