Close collaboration between Sitem Startup Club and BFH-TI

17.05.2023 The Department of Engineering and Computer Science BFH-TI has signed an agreement with the Sitem Startup Club that provides exciting opportunities for SSC startups. Of particular interest for the medtech startups are the wide-ranging technical competencies of the Institute for Human Centered Engineering HuCE, with a focus on the areas of medical devices and industrial automation.

The startups benefit from the following offers of the BFH-TI:

  • Use of infrastructure (high-quality laboratory facilities, such as a certified clean room and ISO-13485 certification to manufacture MedTech devices in-house).
  • Opportunity for uncomplicated collaboration in the form of student projects
  • Wide-ranging expertise in the field of medical technology as a basis for joint research projects

First Innosuisse project

Zina Yudina with her company Babylat is one of the first startups to start an Innosuisse project with BFH through the new collaboration. The startup is working on enriching the protein content in breast milk on site in hospitals to provide optimal nutrition for premature babies. Zina Yudina is currently working in the Optics laboratory (HuCE-optoLab) and is together with the researchers from the BFH advancing the sensor technology to control the filtration process.
