Leadership & Performance

Would you like to develop your impact, attitude and actions in complex situations using methods from the arts? Then your personal journey begins here.

The world is characterised by complexity, dynamism and unpredictability. Traditional leadership approaches based on planning, control and purely cognitive strategies are increasingly reaching their limits. Successful leadership today means not only tolerating uncertainty, but also using it as a source of creativity, innovation and collaboration.

In the CAS Leadership & Performance, you will expand your leadership practice through artistic and performative methods – embedded in an economic context of transformation. And geared towards the demands of a constantly changing world of work.

  • As a boundary crosser, you consciously use changes in perspective to make sustainable decisions and enable new solutions.
  • As an improviser, you maintain an overview in uncertain situations, encounter the unpredictable with calmness and recognise opportunities in the new.
  • As an amplifier you act by putting employees at the centre, promoting their expressiveness and releasing collective energy.
  • As someone who is comfortable with mistakes, you create psychological safety, provide guidance and strengthen resilient connections within the team.
  • As a courageous acrobat, you confidently balance risk and safety, use complexity as a resource as a chaos tamer and clearly distinguish the essential from the non-essential.

This CAS is a joint programme offered by the BFH Business School and Bern Academy of the Arts HKB.
