Less discrimination through AI systems: EU project BIAS is looking for contributors

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used in human resource management. However, these AI systems are not free from bias. How bias and prejudice can be identified and mitigated is the subject of the four-year BIAS project, in which the Applied Machine Intelligence research group from BFH is involved as a technical research partner. The project is now inviting stakeholders from various groups to get involved in the project in National Labs. In particular, human resource managers, AI developers, scientists, political decision-makers, representatives of trade unions, employees and civil society organisations are addressed. Anyone who has developed, used or experienced AI applications in the labour market, advocates for them, has invested, researched or worked in this field, or is generally affected by them, or who is concerned with discrimination and inequalities in employment, is invited to get involved in the National Labs.

Participate in a European research project

National Labs members are free to engage in various activities within the project, from co-creation to training and raising awareness, depending on their needs and wishes. They also have access to regular and personalised information about the project. In this way, members are able to contribute their views and expertise on identifying and mitigating diversity biases in the labour market and contribute to a large European research project to mitigate the further negative impact of AI systems biases on society.
