Ruminants

Our research promotes efficiency and health and thus the welfare of both large and small ruminants by means of good nutrition, management and health prophylaxis.

Pigs and Meat Quality

Through our research we contribute to improving resource efficiency, animal health and animal well-being in pig farming while also increasing the quality and flavour of pork.

Animal Genetics

We study genome-wide marker data, lineage information and phenotypic information in order to optimise selection processes in livestock breeds. We take genetic diversity into account in doing so.

Horse care

We explore ways to develop and improve sustainable horse care in Switzerland, looking at issues of breeding, genetics, economic viability, feeding, health prophylaxis, assessment of riding arenas and pasture...
