Institute for Human Centered Engineering – Biomedical Engineering Laboratory

In our Biomedical Engineering Laboratory (HuCE-BME Lab), we combine technologies from various engineering disciplines with scientific findings to solve medical problems.

Our Laboratory

Medical technology in cooperation with clinics and industrial partners
We concentrate our research and development activities on system integration, functional pattern development (mechanics/construction, electronics, software), biomechanics, biomaterials, instruments, sensors and measurement technology, signal processing, actuators. Our goal is to develop improved systems for medical diagnoses and therapies.

Services

We offer a project-based service for industry:

  • Bachelor's and Master's theses
  • Funded projects (e.g. Innosuisse)
  • Commissioned projects
  • Consulting or outsourcing of applied research projects and development
  • Provision of our infrastructure

Expertise

  • System integration, functional prototype development (mechanics, electronics, software)
  • Biomechanics, biomaterials
  • Medical instrumentation, sensors and measurement technology, signal processing, actuators.
  • Electronics, telemetry
  • Imaging techniques
