Biography
- Meike Ramon studied psychology with a focus on neuropsychology at the Ruhr-University Bochum before completing her doctorate in cognitive neuroscience funded by a PhD Fellowship awarded by Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) at the Université catholique de Louvain (BE) under the supervision of Bruno Rossion. Following research as an independent FNRS Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Fellow at the University of Glasgow, and later postdoc at UniFR, she held a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) PRIMA professorship and led the Applied Face Cognition Lab at the University of Lausanne. Since 2025 she has been Full Professor of Applied Data Science at BFH Business School, where she directs the Applied Face Cognition Lab, co-directs the Research Lab, and is responsible for curriculum development and delivery of the Academic Skills modules. Her research bridges cognitive neuroscience and applied data science, focusing on individual differences in face and voice identity recognition, the identification and study of Super-Recognizers, and the evidence-based deployment of biometric identification in law enforcement and security. She collaborates with police and security agencies across Switzerland and Europe and advises funding bodies and policymakers on the responsible use of recognition technologies.
