We test adhesives for structural and non-structural areas and support you in application-related optimisation of the formulation, adhesive selection and processing.

Range of services

We carry out standard and development tests for adhesive systems. All orders are carried out by qualified specialists from the relevant field and treated confidentially.


Most of the testing performed is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS), accreditation number: STS 317. The SAS is a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). This means that the tests accredited by us are recognised internationally.

We offer the following tests:

  • Classification of thermoplastic wood adhesives for non-structural applications (SN EN 204)
  • Classification of thermosetting wood adhesives for non-structural applications (SN EN 12765)
  • Adhesives for non-structural applications – Determination of tensile shear strength of lap joints (SN EN 205, SN EN 14257 (WATT'91)
  • Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures – Determination of longitudinal tensile shear strength (SN EN 302-1)
  • Adhesives for load-bearing timber structures – Determination of resistance to delamination (SN EN 302-2)

Infrastructure

Our adhesive technologies laboratory enables us to carry out a wide range of tests. The following equipment is available to us:

  • Automated bonding evaluation system (ABES)
  • Device for calculating setting times
  • Contact angle measuring device
  • Lab presses (up to 250° C)
  • Microscopes for digital image capture
  • Universal testing machine for pressure, tensile, shear and bending tests (force range 0–250 kN)
  • Tempering chamber for the universal testing machine (-80° C to +250° C)
  • Micro-tensile testing machine with the option of determining viscoelastic properties
  • Air-conditioned testing lab
  • A range of climatic chambers and rooms
  • Video extensometer for the universal testing machine
  • Special software for recording and evaluating measurements
