This full‑day workshop is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) in Switzerland and globally and equip them with practical tools to strengthen their roles. Through a combination of large- and small‑group activities, participants will collaborate with facilitators and peers to apply new knowledge, complete hands‑on exercises, and develop personalized plans for implementing their learning in their workplace.

Led by APN researchers and educators from Canada and Switzerland, the workshop will introduce participants to current research on APN role outcomes and explore a framework for understanding the “value‑added” contributions of advanced nursing roles. Key topics include strategies for clearly articulating APN roles to enhance role clarity, as well as developing relational and communication skills to effectively convey the role within interprofessional teams.

Participants will also create outlines for quality improvement or research projects aimed at enhancing patient care. In addition, they will develop individualized logic models to support clarity, alignment, and strategic development in their APN roles.
