Finance, Accounting & Tax

We advance applied research and teaching in financial decision-making — integrating financial modelling, AI, and data analysis with investment strategy, managerial accounting, ESG, and regulatory perspectives.

Our research

Our research integrates quantitative finance, capital market-oriented, and behavioural accounting perspectives to advance financial decision-making across markets and organisations. We collaborate with leading international researchers and institutions.

Our work spans five pillars:

  • Capital market-oriented accounting, valuation, and investment strategies, including earnings growth and P/E-based valuation. 
  • Accounting-based behavioural and organisational decision-making, drawing on managerial accounting and microeconomic research on firm-level choices. 
  • ESG and sustainable finance, covering sustainable investment strategies, ESG reporting, and the role of sustainability in financial markets and corporate decisions. 
  • Applied finance and AI, developing data-driven tools for financial analysis and investment decisions with practice partners, including through our engagement in the Data Innovation Alliance’s AI in Finance & Insurance Expert Group. 
  • Regulatory commentary and policy engagement, including Swiss accounting and tax law, ESG reporting, and evolving financial regulation, linking academic research with policy and practice.
